I’ve been using hashcat to attempt to crack this hash. I used CrackStation’s dictionary but perhaps I’m doing it wrong as when I run it I get an error that the dictionary doesn’t have enough entries. I also tried running it through hashes.com with no luck.

    Any assistance?

    Hash.salt:

sha256($plaintext.$salt). You have it formatted a bit wonky, it should be:

    cefda138a81be09b4a3e7b7c73c2048a7254e4d69d7b510def0015ff531e52bf:9a7e2e26e455eaef5f7c462a56cccd84dbdf0b27

If you try hashcat, it’s number 1410.

Try posting it on the HashKiller forum and other users will try to crack it for you.

If you need more dictionaries, check the Cracking section of our wiki, https://old.reddit.com/r/hacking/wiki/index

I also suggest using the OneRuleToRuleThemAll rule, https://github.com/NotSoSecure/password_cracking_rules/blob/master/OneRuleToRuleThemAll.rule

good luck and happy cracking! 😊
