A very desperate plea for help:

tldr: need to bypass pattern lock without losing precious data.

I changed my lock pattern a couple of weeks ago and forgot it since I only need to use fingerprint and face ID to unlock; I know very dumb!

I woke up one day to find a MIUI update that requested a restart. I’ve been locked out of my phone for four days and I can’t even begin to fathom the amount of irreplaceable data I’d lose if I wipe the phone; which is seriously depressing me.

If you know of ANY solution to save my data or bypass the pattern lock please comment.

The phone is Xiaomi Poco F1 on android 10 with the latest MIUI (12.something). USB debugging is enabled, no root, bootloader unfortunately locked.

ADB doesn’t read my phone when I type “ADB devices” nor connect through wifi.

p.s: please spare me the “no there’s no solution you have to wipe it” comments.

Not sure if this helps, but Xiaomi is one of the very few vendors that lockout EDL mode which is a good thing security-wise compared to most Android phones. If the data is very important, I would personally keep the phone aside and wait for an exploit, this may take a long time however, also change your AP WiFi password so that in case you turn on the phone in the future it doesn’t install security patches.

Check out if there are test points. This article may help: [https://forensic.manuals.mobiledit.com/MM/Physical-Extraction—EDL-Hack.1806237778.html](https://forensic.manuals.mobiledit.com/MM/Physical-Extraction—EDL-Hack.1806237778.html)
