Just started to get my hands on kali linux and I’ve run into a few things that require the use of a docker. What is the difference? Not sure if this is a silly question but thank you in advance.

A container is a process running on your machine with really good process isolation.

A VM is a whole guest operating system that manages its own processes.

This will explain the technical difference nicely: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGz9DS-aIeY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGz9DS-aIeY)

As to how you will use it with kali, I can’t help.
