    It’s a SHA1 hash, not salted. Is that possible? If not then I guess I used another password than the one I was thinking of after all.

    No. SHA1 is deterministic, so the same input will **always** produce the same output. There is such thing as collisions, but that just means two different inputs can produce the same output.

    You messed up somewhere, it’s not the hash function.

    Could it have been hashed more than once? A lot of password storing systems do multiple hashes when they store passwords to make things more difficult for an attacker.
