I am not really sure where to post this but here it goes:

I had a call with my dad and we talked for about 2-3 minutes. When we said our goodbyes i always wait for him to hang up incase he forgot to mention anything or whatsoever. Instead of him hanging up i hear him start the conversation again from the beginning ( i was getting worried, knowing he was beginning to have alzhiemers maybe he just forgot we talked and wanted to speak again) so i go along with everything then start to realize he is reusing the exact same tone and words as in the conversation beforehand. I start saying hello and he says hello back to me, then started to ask questions that i previously asked him and he would always respond, BUT in the same exact tone and was kind of off ,for example in 2 different instances in the conversation he said yes in very different tones, he would respond to my question with the wrong tone, like it was all recorded and someone was listening and played each phrase back to me. I then started asking question that i did not ask during the conversation and that made him start asking me questions that he asked me during our conversation.

I then started saying “I really hope nobody else is at the end of the call” and would respond with another recorded question he asked me during our previous conversation, I also started saying hello dad is that you? and he would just say yes but kind of monotone way in which he responded to me during our conversation.

FYI: whenever i say “during the conversation” i mean the real conversation that i had with him before he was supposed to hang up.

I just want to add that my dad is a somewhat wealthy old man, he had someone work for him for over 20 years that ended up black mailing him numerous ways as my dad grew older. needless to say i think my dad could be a target to be hacked.

I might be a bit paranoid but its better to be safe than sorry.

Hacked? Probably not. But it almost sounds like someone that is using him to try and sound like everything is fine to trick you. Hoping you aren’t suspicious, you will just go about your day and forget it all as “old man with early onset Alzheimer’s.”

Or else you’re just trying to bullshit us all. I’m not saying you are, but it definitely is a weird situation.

It’s really difficult to speculate whether it’s hacking or not, but personally I do not think your dads phone was hacked.
It’s always better to be safe than sorry so I suggest you start protecting yourself by changing passwords, resetting your phone and other measures that you can think of.

Get him to use video chats with you, even on phone.
