Equifax Breach Settlement – Why you WILL NOT get money (sorry)

The $700M settlement is no where near enough to pay out $125 to all victims of the hack. Sorry people, you’re not getting paid.
In 2017, Equifax was hacked. They lost the personal financial data of 147M people, and now it’s time for them to pay for it. But the amount they’re paying is no where near enough to pay out the victims, as the news suggests.
Hundreds of news articles and countless YouTube videos have been smooshed into my face. “Claim your $125”, “I got paid!”. No, ya didn’t buddy.
Claims are due in early 2020. At that point, they’ll be weighed and processed. People who were more impacted are more likely to get paid. Those of us who were just “standard” victims of the hack stand the least chance of getting compensated.
