On my mac book I have the root password, but I also have an administrator account from which I need the password. I normally use Linux so I am comfortable with the command line and know bash. I am running OSx 10.8.4 If that is relevant information. All help is appreciated. Thank you.
I said that all help is appreciated, but to admit this isn’t incredibly useful. I probably should have added that changing the password would be highly undesirable. Never the less thank you for telling me to “just fucking google it” and calling an obvious noob an idiot.
well mabe if you googled it you would get the answer. i know i found it in two links. And if you use linux regularly you would know the password is in the shadow file. Thats located at /var/db/dslocal/nodes/Default/users for mac users and can only be accessed by root. have fun N00b
