Local construction firm takes defense contract: Dayton Business
The Department of Defense has awarded a Beavercreek-based construction firm a place in six defense contracts with a combined value of up to $45 million.
Dayton’s Butt Construction Co. Inc. will join companies from Winter Park, Fla.; New Orleans; Miami; Lafayette, La.; and Loretto, Tenn. in an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award design-bid-build construction contract for projects at the Naval Support Activity (NSA) center in Tennessee, the department said in an announcement.
The NSA center, in Millington, Tenn., just north of Memphis, serves as the Navy’s “Human Resources Center of Excellence,” the Navy says. More than 7,500 military, civilian and contract personnel work there.

The maximum dollar value for the five-year ordering period for all six contracts combined is $45,000,000, the department said Thursday.
The firms will be working on new construction, renovations, alterations, demolition, roofing, repair and more, the department said.
The length of the contract is not to exceed 60 months, with an expected completion date of August 2024.
Among Butt’s prominent Dayton-area projects is the $194 million, 650,000-square-foot 711th Human Performance Wing headquarters at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Virginia Kettering Hall at the University of Dayton.
