    No mention of VPN? Is it a good thing to use or not?

    5 year old Drive comment is kinda a lie. Hardware will wear out, but a hard drive you are using for a backup has puts less stress on the hard drive. So you will get a longer life out of it. I've been using the same drives for backups for 10 years and have never had any issues with them falling.
