But you'll have to wait to find out who else is in the roster.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has continued to tease more new roster additions since Nintendo and Team Ninja unveiled the Ultimate Alliance sequel at 2018's The Game Awards. One of the biggest fan requests has been answered in the growing presence of the X-Men in the lineup — and yes, the developers are just as excited as Marvel fans that they're in the game.
Speaking to IGN at E3 2019, Ultimate Alliance 3's writer Marc Sumerak, when asked about what Marvel interactions he was most excited to write, put it quite simply — it was having Marvel's many mutants join the mix.
"Bringing the X-Men back in the loop...when we got the go-ahead that the X-Men were in this game and we were going to combine them with the Avengers and the Defenders and the Guardians of the Galaxy, knowing that those characters were going to be interacting on-screen in a game with the rest of the Marvel Universe for the first time in a long time on a console game was just such a joy," Sumerak said. "And to get those characters to interact with the rest of the Marvel universe was a real special opportunity."
And while we have seen plenty of X-Men, and other Marvel characters announced, we have definitely not seen the full lineup just yet, so expect more reveals to come.
The X-Men will be represented on both the hero and villain side of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's story, but they'll also have an increased presence thanks to the newly announced Ultimate Alliance 3 expansion pass, which will also see the highly requested Fantastic Four added to the game.
"If you get the game and the expansion pass, you will have the biggest roster ever and you will have all your favorite characters in one place," Mike Jones, the vice president and executive producer at Marvel Games told IGN.
And for those wondering what the expansion pass will bring, Marvel and Team Ninja declined to say what the expansion pass will bring aside from new characters, but Jones did tease there have been some correct guesses online already.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will be released on Nintendo Switch on July 19.
